Bio
Alex Helm was first commissioned as a dancer/choreographer in 1997
by the recording artiste Anne Clark to interpret tracks for a remix project
Word-processing. This featured collaborations with Mouse On Mars, Juno Reactor,
Sven Vath, Pascal FEOS, Hardfloor, Aural Float and the Saafi Brothers. On the
success of three promotional concerts in Germany for Sony executives Alex was
approached to perform on the Word-processing European Tour 1997/98, covering
nine countries. This led to European Festivals including Eurorock, Big Warp,
Zillo, televised Rockpalast,� Oster-Rocknacht� and the Osophere alongside such
acts as Run DMC, Coolio, Catatonia, Roni Size, Divine Comedy.
Alex has worked in various fields of the entertainment industry. He has
choreographed movements for animations for the TV graphics company Televirtual.
Alex has performed on the club scene working for club promoters; EBNAL presents
DECORUM at Heaven, Faith Events, Pam's House, Essence, Xtreme Promotions and
Mercy Nightclub featuring eminent DJs Boy George, Brandon Block, Anne Savage,
Matt Hardwick, JFK, Tim Sheridan and Jon Pleased Wimmin. He has organized club
dancers and performed for themed events, public events, street parades and
private parties. In this capacity he has choreographed, performed in and
stage-managed shows for the club scene.
Alex is also currently establishing himself as an actor. Most recently he played
the lead role of Vincent Van Gogh in the award winning play Vincent In Brixton
receiving several glowing reviews. Prior to this he performed in Crude Apache�s
off the wall production De Sade-The Descent Of Man playing the comical French
detective Inspector Marais.
He has made appearances in television productions of BBCtvs 1999 �All The King�s
Men�, Tiger Aspects 2004 "Fooling Hitler", BBCtvs 2005 "Hiroshima", Touchpaper
Televisions 2005 �The Queen�s Sister�, and Granada�s 2005 �The Last Hangman�.
He has also appeared as a footman in Granada/Network 10�s reality show
�Australian Princess�. |
